Advanced Building Science is a two-day, hands-on workshop for residential construction professionals who want to strengthen their understanding of building science and put it into practice. Participants will study how air, heat, and moisture flow shape design, materials, and construction methods. The workshop takes a whole-house perspective, showing how the enclosure, mechanical systems, and occupant needs must work as a system. With climate-specific strategies, practical applications, and science-based guidance, participants will learn how to reduce risk, improve performance, and meet evolving industry changes and homeowner expectations. His work spans Zero Net Energy buildings, deep energy retrofits, electrification, Passive Houses, and the Living Building Challenge. He’s been nationally recognized by ASHRAE, AIA, EEBA, and NESEA—though, in his words, they didn’t see all the mistakes along the way.
